Circumplex deep dive: Perfectionism/Conventional Bowtie

Bow ties are characterised by primary and secondary styles that are both defensive and directly opposite one another. The Perfectionism/Conventional combination is a common bowtie that reflects the strong need to 'do the right things and do things right'. The internal dialogue or self-talk underpinning this bow tie can pile on the pressure and insecurity: 'tries to be best at things', 'impatient with own errors', 'too concerned with looking good' and 'often uncertain'. Attend this deep dive Connect & Learn session with Justine Farrington to reflect and explore techniques and tips to shift energy into a more constructive space.
In this session you will:
- Gain an understanding of the Perfectionism/Conventional Bowtie
- Reflect on profiles and explore thinking and behaviour options that are less self-defeating and more self-enhancing to help people become happier, healthier and higher performing
- Explore tangible actions that can be taken to help shift into a more flexible, creative, growth mindset.

Circumplex deep dive: Achievement/Dependent opposites

Opposites are characterised by different needs (Satisfaction/Security) and different orientations (Task/People). Opposites can be a source of frustration, particularly when the defensive style is stronger than the Constructive. In this deep dive Connect & Learn session with Justine Farrington we will explore together the Achievement and Dependent combination. We'll look at how this might show up in an LSI1 (self description) and what to look out for if it's evident in feedback from others. We will explore techniques and exercises to shift energy into more constructive styles and how to turn the volume up on Achievement and reduce Dependent.
In this session you will:
- Gain an understanding of the Achievement/Dependent combination
- Share ideas and examples of coaching around this combination and the impact this has
- Explore benefits of growing the task focus and Achievement Thinking

When: Tuesday 12th July, 12pm – 1pm

Circumplex deep dive: Approval style

Join us for this special Connect & Learn with Anna Bolton from Waikato Regional Council sharing her experiences and insights around this style.

It's human nature to want to be liked – isn't it? Yes, but if we need others acceptance to sustain our self worth we can end up trying to please everyone except for ourselves. In a leadership role this can get in the way of clarity of expectations, decision making, delegation and resolving conflict.

Attend this deep dive Connect & Learn session with Anna Bolton to reflect and explore techniques and tips to shift energy into a more constructive space.
In this session you will:
- Gain an understanding of the Approval style and the impact it has on teams, effectiveness and satisfaction
- Gain a real life example of how this style plays out and the benefits of transformation
- Explore tangible actions that can be taken to help shift into a more constructive leadership approach

Online
When: Thursday 15th September, 12pm - 1.30pm
